It’s been quite a while since I wrote about my general thoughts and musings, not that I haven’t had a lot of them while I’ve spent the last decade up to my ears in capitalistic-workaholism.

Especially now, when we’re in the midst of a global pandemic we are constantly beset with feelings of “Stay Home! You don’t want to accidentally murder anyone by breathing” and “You could be doing something more productive is you weren’t cowering in your den — or while you’re cowering in your den, you sloth.”

I miss casually creating things. I miss casually writing. In the interest of getting things out of my brain, starting it all up again, and exorcising my tendency to overthink absolutely everything — let’s dive in. Let’s talk about some tips and tricks that I’ve coached people with for years, but recently had to work hard to apply to my own creative process that are working.

The Diagnosis

My lack of writing has been for a few reasons:

  1. The Aforementioned busy-ness, some of it also involving writing and creating for businesses.
  2. 21st Century fatigue — it’s been a particularly difficult time to human
  3. Stardew Valley — Someone had to collect wool from those virtual sheep.
